Using a credit with AeroMexico on Delta

Onto Trip #2!

We are taking the young adult kids to Mexico City for Christmas. With their jobs, no one has enough time to go to Lisbon (like I was hoping) so Mexico City it is! Luckily, my husband and I are spending three weeks in Spain this September and are looking forward to the history of the exploration.

From LAX, AeroMexico has "decent" priced flight. They are actually almost double what they typically are but it's Christmas.

I can book the exact same flight on Delta for another $70 each. If we decide not to go to Mexico City for whatever reason and I end up with a credit there, can I use it to book a flight on Delta? I assume so but can only find information about the airlines honoring each other's frequent flyer miles and not credits or vouchers.

You could use an AeroMexico credit to buy a seat on a Delta flight only if it's a total route on which they codeshare, so probably only cross-border US/MEX. These would be Delta itineraries that show up when you search on AeroMexico's site. You aren't going to be able to use AeroMexico credit to fly from, say, LA to Chicago...
