United's New International Flights for 2027

United announced today that it is adding several new international flights for 2027. It's an impressive list.

New narrow-body flights (on A321XLR)

  • Newark – Ibiza 4x weekly from May 31 to October 7
  • Newark – Luxembourg 1x daily year-round from April 2
  • Newark – Marseilles 1x daily from June 4 to October 29
  • Newark – Valencia 3x weekly from June 2 to October 6
  • Washington/Dulles – Toulouse 1x daily year-round from April 26

New seasonal wide-body flights

  • Newark – Catania 4x weekly on a premium-heavy B767-300ER from May 28 to September 20
  • Newark – Ljubljana 4x weekly on a B767-400ER from May 12 to October 29
  • Newark – Olbia 3x weekly on a premium-heavy B767-300ER from May 27 to September 21
  • Newark – Terceira 3x weekly on a B737-8 MAX from June 9 to September 5

New year-round wide-body flights

  • Denver – Paris/CDG 1x daily on a B787-9 year-round from May 27
  • San Francisco – Tel Aviv 3x weekly on a B787-9 year-round from March 28
  • Washington/Dulles – Milan/Malpensa 3x weekly on a B767-300ER year-round from May 28

New Japan flights

  • Los Angeles – Osaka/Kansai 1x daily on a B787-9 year-round starting March 27
  • San Francisco – Naha (Okinawa) 3x weekly on a B777-200ER from March 27 to October 28

I was wondering how United could support a year-round flight between Dulles and Toulouse but the article explained it. Very interesting.

Those are long flights on an A321. I can tolerate a few hours intra Europe on one of them but not a long haul flight. It's a real pain when you want to get to the toilets at the back but the aisle is occupied by cabin crew and a trolley.

You might as well get used to the 321XLR. More and more airlines are getting it for transatlantic flights to secondary airports. As well as some major ones.

It's much more efficient to fly a nearly full 321 than a half full older 767.

As for toilets, there are some both in the front and the back. Go to the ones without anything in the way.

Also announced was a daily, year-round direct flight between Washington-Dulles and Toulouse, launching in May 2027:

Washington-Dulles – Toulouse: Departure: 6:05 PM — Arrival: 8:15 AM (next day)

Toulouse – Washington-Dulles: Departure: 10:15 AM — Arrival: 1:25 PM

Announced A321XLR configuration (150 passengers):

20 Business Class seats in a 1-1 layout, convertible into beds, each with a door for added privacy

12 Premium Plus seats in a 2-2 layout

34 Premium Economy seats

83 Economy seats.

As for toilets, there are some both in the front and the back. Go to the ones without anything in the way.

The ones up front are for business class passengers and woe betide anyone who breaches the curtain separating business from economy. I've observed some pretty confrontational cabin crew scolding economy passengers who tried to use the business class toilet.
