under seat guidelines for British Air

So how strict is British Air with under seat size. My personal item is 1 inch over the 6 inches allowed for width. It's soft sided so can be squished. Anyone have experience? Going through Heathrow in October. Have been to Europe 7 times but never through Heathrow. Hearing horror stories!

I have never had a problem with them eyeballing my underseat item. Yours is only 1" over and can be squished so I can't imagine your item hitting anyone's radar. In my experience, overhead bin items are the big deal (and even for those, I'm amazed at the barge- sized items people haul down the aisle with impunity.)

We have never had a horror story with Heathrow, and just flew through there this past May with absolutely no problems.
Safe travels!

I also have never had difficulties at Heathrow unless I wasn't careful about being prepared for security there. Just take a moment before joining the security line to make sure you have everything in order. It is easy to have filled up your water bottle after security for your first flight and forget it needs to be empty for security for your second flight.

There are three factors for underseat space on British Airways. One is the size of your bag, another is if there is an underseat entertainment box taking up half of the space, and finally how much legroom do you need? I find that I often have to deal with the underseat entertainment box which I don't enjoy and will place everything else up in the overhead bin so that I have some legroom available.

You're right, KC. Many people think if it's got wheels, it's a carry on!
