Does anyone know, is it possible to order 2 tickets together on the TGV-Europe site? It keeps coming up 1 ticket (even though I initially put in 2 passangers). When I add a second ticket after the first one, it puts that passanger in a different car.
Don't know why that's happening. Which TGV Europe address are you using, and when and where are you travelling?
I'm using the TGV-Europe site. I put in 2 people, but then another screen comes up asking for more info, but it doesn't have a box for # of people. Then it comes up for options for 1 ticket. When I add a 2nd ticket it puts us in 2 different cars.
The French site gives me two tickets together (voyages-sncf.com) but I'm not totally sure of what I'm reading. I think I would choose the option to pick up the ticket at the gare or boutique sncf--does that sound right?
We want to goe from airport CDG 2 TGV (Charles de Gaulle) to Lyon.
Jinny
OK...there are a couple of different ways of accessing the TGV Europe site...that's why I asked. Try http://tgv-europe.com/en . I've just entered "Roissy" (for CDG airport) and Lyon, with two people (setting your country to Canada so you don't get kicked over to the RailEurope site), and I see a 13:52 train on Wednesday, 16 September for 30 Euro each. When it asks seating preferences, I put in "upper deck" and the next screen shows me two tickets, seated next to each other, for 60 Euro total.
I put in those coordinates and I still get ticket for 1. In the initial box I check 2 passengers, but then another box comes up that doesn't have a place to check # of passengers. There is a blank box under "Who is traveling?", but I've put in "2 people,' "two passengers," etc. and that doesn't seem to do anything.
We want to go on Sept. 9--I don't know if that causes any problem. I am also looking at the leisure ticket @ E 41.
In the meantime I have reserved 2 tickets on the French site--I'm just not sure I've done it correctly. I assume when I actually pay I have to pick up the ticket at the gare or the boutique?
Thanks for your help.
Jinny
I tried the one you said, www.tgv-europe.com/en. We want to go Sept. 9 from "airport CDG 2 TGV" (that's airport Charles de Gaulle) to Lyon on the E 41 leisure fare at 12:58.
Hi Jinny....just went through the process again and had no problems getting two tickets together on the train you wanted. Try using ROISSY as your departure point....don't worry, it'll come up as CDG.
It finally went through for two. I had tried "Roissy" before, but this time it worked.
Next question: If I say I want the ticket mailed to me, it wants to send it to Canada. Will our Mastercard work in the automatic machine in France to pick up the ticket there?
Yes it does want to send it to Canada. Once you select the United States, it will kick you over to the RailEurope site. You may be able to print out the tickets....do that if it's available. If not, take your confirmation e-mail and your CC to the ticket window to pick them up.
The fine print says the ticket will have to be picked up at a boutique. Is there a boutique at Charles de Gaulle?
Does the window qualify as a boutique?
Thank you ever so much for your help.
It's the ticket window.
