The U.S. is planning then more pre-clearance customs and immigration locations overseas with many in Europe.
That's interesting Frank. It would be great to have pre-clearance in Amsterdam.
In the olden days (1980's) there used to be pre-clearance at London Gatwick for a Tampa bound flight I took a number of times.
Thanks for sharing this info Frank!
The more places that do this the better - and Amsterdam especially for us in the Pacific Northwest! :0)
Cool! Perhaps it's time for a career change, is U.S. Customs and Border Protection hiring? I'd love to be posted in some of those locales with a transfer every six months;)
In the busier pre-clearance locations, a long queue on arrival is simply exchanged for a long queue on departure. This is the case for some Canadian airports and is going that way in Dublin as it becomes better known. The real benefit is felt mostly by people who have an onward connection in the USA from the same airport terminal.
Ireland is one of those preclearance places
if you are flying on Delta...
