I'm having a difficult time getting a solid answer from Turkish Airlines (for some reason all search links redirect to their homepage) so thought I'd ask you all this question. I am considering purchasing a semi flexible ticket from TA. I know that this ticket can be cancelled and refunded for a fee, and that as a result I'd only get part of my money back. Does anyone know what that cancellation fee would look like? I vaguely remember reading that they would refund 70% of the ticket-- is that in addition to a fee? Is that 70% of the base fare, or 70% of the total ticket, including fuel surcharges and tax? Thank you!!
Here's a link to the Turkish Airline site that explains it. If more than 12 hours from departure, complete refund except for ticket service charge. If less than 12 hours, 30% fee.
Thanks Philip. It looks like that only covers the totally non-refundable and the totally refundable tickets, not the in-between semi-refundable option, which I'm considering; it unfortunately doesn't look like the same rules would apply.
The above rules apply only to AndoluJet which is the regional airline for domestic flights, not the international service:
"AnadoluJet is a Turkish regional airline headquartered in Ankara. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and operates domestic flights within Turkey and to Northern Cyprus."
I would call them up and ask. As much as I like them, their "new and improved" website is terrible. Or do a dummy booking and go all the way until the last step - all rules should be shown before you click "purchase".
Thanks Agnes! I'll try a dummy booking and see what that gives me. I tried calling earlier today and the operator had a difficult time understanding my questions, but it might be worth calling again later to see if someone else can help.
