Turkish Airlines - Economy?

Hello! Traveling to Turkey from Seattle. What is the difference between Economy and Economy Plus? Any tips on booking? Business Class is just too expensive but it is a long flight! All insight welcome! Thank you.

Is it a codeshare flight, operated by United? If so, their Economy Plus has "up to 6 inches" more legroom and is located nearer the front of the plane than Economy. If you have a tight connection, that "nearer the front" location might make a difference.

I am no help with a comparison, but I flew 13 hrs recently on Turkish in economy and paid for an exit row seat. While it certainly wasn’t a lie flat seat, it was actually pretty good. And certainly cheaper than upgrading.

We flew Turkish Airways Economy back around 8 years ago. The plane was newer and redone, the seats were fairly comfortable(for coach) we got slippers and a nice travel tin with toothbrush/lotion/etc and the food was pretty good.

If you are a United code-share then I can't help you but long haul Economy was fine to Istanbul.

But in eight years the seat space has shrunk. At 6-2 the economy plus is a bit more roomy. Not a lot.

If you want more room, another alternative is to pay for exit row seats. There are some drawbacks but you don't have to climb over other people - or have them climb over you - to get up and down. Let me know if you need all the details. They are the same drawbacks as on other airlines. In addition at least some of the exit rows are near the toilets, so it can be a bit busy. BTW they now charge to choose any seat at any time, even at check-in. I was pleased with the seats I was assigned, but it would have cost me $49 to change seats even during the 24-hour check-in window. OTOH they allow 2 checked bags which was wonderful for my US shopping spree.

I flew back from Chicago a week ago on Turkish. The food is good and there's plenty to choose from on the entertainment menus. Service was good and there are snacks and drinks at the rear galley between meals.

When I left Israel, they didn't weigh my cabin bag. At the gate a passenger told me that her 3 companions had their cabin bags weighed along with their "personal items." They then had to check another suitcase or two to reduce the total weight to 8 kgs per person. When I left Chicago, they weighed my carry-on but not my personal item.

The luggage weighing was hit or miss on my flights. My family was made to weigh our luggage. The people in back didn't. The other thing that was a negative was the chaotic boarding. While they boarded First and Business first, they just let every economy passenger board when they wanted, so it was a bit like herding cattle. But the on-board product couldn't be faulted and was one of the better economy flights I had-especially for an 9-10 hour flight

But I'm a short person. If I was tall, I might have not been as pleased.

Some flights from SEATAC to istanbul are on Delta Airbus A350 to CDG where a connecting flight will be caught to Istanbul.

United will take you thru Frankfurt on an Airbus A340 where you'll catch a connecting flight to Istanbul.

My only suggestion is to book directly thru Delta or United.

Yep, it's a long flight. The Istanbul airport is supposedly really something to see. As is the city itself.
