I am hoping I get away using this site. I am writing a novel on authonomy site and want to know for part of it, it being clean as a novel about if there is a tunnel after Victoria Station departure in London and what scenery is on route to Birmingham New St, if I can ask this here by permission Tracy Allott Barnsley amateur writer
Tracy There are no tunnels after Victoria station, the lines run over the River Thames. Scenery en route to Birmingham the usual mixture of town and country, some quite pleasant rolling countryside north on London between there and Milton Keynes, otherwise nothing remarkable.
hi, what? no one likes the graffiti on the walls? happy trails.
Trains to Birmingham will leave from Euston and there are definitely tunnels on the approaches to the station.
Tracy, Barnsley, although it may seem like it to you northerners, is not a million miles away from either the West Midlands or London. With a little advance planning you could take an inexpensive sighting trip by train and see it for yourself so your novel would be more accurate. If you take the slow trains not only will you see more of the detail (it is 112 and a half miles from Euston to New Street and far too much detail to post here although I know it like the back of my hand) you can do the trip reasonably cheaply. I'm afraid if you think that Victoria goes north you have quite a bit of learning to get under your belt.
