I am wondering if I should use the Metro B line,we have 3 pieces of luggage or would a cab be smarter even though more expensive. Also, should I purchase the train ticket to Bayeau in advance or purchase at the train station?
I took the Roissybus (easier with luggage because no stairs) to the Opera, and walked to the train station. I worried about this arrangement before I left, but was amazed at how easy it was when I did it. It's about 6 or 7 relatively short blocks: walk from the Roissybus toward Galeries Lafayette department store (there is a taxi stand here if you like), turn left along Blvd. Haussman and walk toward, then past Printemps, turn right at the street at the end of Printemps (there was a sign pointing to the train station, as I recall.) I came into CDG in the early morning, so I pretty much had the sidewalks to myself. I'd probably go straight to the taxi stand if I had luggage and had to contend with lunchtime crowds. As for the train tickets, the trains are fairly frequent, so I'd just buy them at the station. Besides, you never know how long it will take to deplane, navigate the airport, and contend with traffic, etc.
