Trying to plan a trip to Scotland covering several locations. Does anyone know of a site that will plan out best way to get to the sights and cities with no or very little back tracking?
Thanks!!

Wanderlog does that if you have the pro version. It is about $49 for that, but I have used it so often it is worth it to me.
I agree about Wanderlog. It’s a great app and it’s worth paying for the pro version, although you get quite a bit with the free one. But with the pro, you can calculate the fastest and best way to get from one site to another or multiple sites in one day. It’s really a nice feature.

Thanks!! Sometimes yes I want yo get to places quickly.,but at other times I like to meander and take time. I habe lots of places I want yo visit all over Scotland, I just need a good route to hit them all, lol

Why not just use Google Maps and zoom down on places of interest?
Also check the Scotrail website:> https://www.scotrail.co.uk
Official Scottish Tourism website:> https://www.visitscotland.com
I guess what I'm looking for is software to take all the places I want to see and put them all on an ordered route for me. I can set up an itemary and place things on a map myself, but would rather some6else fo it for me. Lol.

It may be old school, but sometimes there's nothing better than spreading out a paper map on a table and tracing routes with your finger - I believe you get a better sense of space and distances. For example, the RS Scotland planning map:
katsinca--That is exactly what the Wanderlog Pro does. When you are on there and putting places in, just click on Optimize Route, and it is all organized for you.

What mikliz97 said. :) Also, Wanderlog offers a 1-week free trial of its Pro version. To start a free trial, create a free account, then go to your account settings, click the "Pro membership" tab, and then tap the "Start free trial" button.
Thank you all for the great information. It is greatly appreciated!!! I will defiantly look into the site several have suggested.
