Trouble with Trenitalia's Web Site - Credit Card!

I am wanting to purchase my tickets in advance because the EuroStar City train I am needing to take sells out quickly and too, it seems like I heard somewhere that the tickets have an advance purchase requirement.

Any advice? I've tried 3 cards and the site won't take them. I did call my credit/debit card companies and they said the system wasn't even attempting to run the transaction through on my accounts.

Any advice? Help!

Currently the Trenitalia site does not accept US credit cards.

Unless you'll be traveling on a holiday, it's unlikely that the train you wish to take will sell out. What is your route and what is the departure date and time you wish to choose?

The ticket machines at major stations have an English option and they do accept US credit cards. No need to stand in line at a window. So long as seats are available, there is no need to purchase tickets in advance.

Well, this may very well sell out from what I understand since I am looking at First Class in a Euro Star City train. Only one departure time works with my cruise schedule. It would be between Livorno Central and Viareggio.

Is there a broker somewhere that can help with the purchase?

Wait until you get there, then buy your tickets at the train station. Relax and have fun.

Melissa....you can purchase them in advance at RailEurope.com, owned mostly by the French national rail network. You will pay more....but you'll have your tickets in hand before you leave.

I went ahead and got them on RailEurope. Thanks for the suggestion. While there MIGHT have still been tickets on the day I needed them, since this was the only train/time that would work with my schedule I didn't want to take that chance! I'll buy the return when I get there because there's more options.

Thanks to everyone!
