trouble understanding Trenitalia website

I originally found a schedule from Venice to Tirano which would get us there in time for the Bernina Express.. in going back to double check times the system is giving me nothing, even if I break it up from Venice to Milan..what am I doing wrong?

Hi Vikki---the Trenitalia website is undergoing some kind of test/re-formatting today. They have added features and it looks different. But I don't think it is operating entirly as normal. You might check it again in a couple of days.

thanks Lola... just when I thought I was getting it down....good thing I have a bit of time before having to nail down the tickets.. we do want to get the 2 for 1 Swiss pass however...do we get that direct from SBB or Rail Europe? Saw somewhere that it cost a lot to have tickets mailed from SBB...nice to hear from you...

The Swiss Travel system will sell you the passes now and ship them to the US without charge. But they won't send them until later, 2 or 3 weeks before the start date for the pass. If younwant to buy them now, go to swisstravelsystem.ch. And click on " buy tickets.". It will ask where younare and this is one time when you can answer US without getting switched to RailEurope. Instead, it will switch you to swisstravelsystem.com, and that website will have a link to the 2-for-1 deal. I had to enter actual dates, using a hypothetical September 10, tom proceed. If I tried using the popup calendar, the only dates offered were for the spring deal. But entering the dates worked fine, it proceeded to the name and payment page. The Flex pass is valid for 4 days within a 30- day period, so you have plenty of leeway. Just be sure to choose a start date after Sept. 1, and on or before your arrival date if you plan to use it to travel to Paris.
