Trip to Prague

Greetings. My husband and I would like to spend 3 -4 weeks from early Novembmer before flying to Boston to spend 4 weeks with our son and daughter in law in December. Mainly, we wish to visit Prague, and if do-able to go to Dubrovnik. I, myself have not been to Austria, therefore a few days may be in order. Any suggestion about Slovania, Hunary etc would be greatly appreciated. We have been to various parts of Germany a couple of times, and much as we would liek to return to Italy (had spent 6 weeks in 2007), we think Central and Eastern Europe would be our preference for this trip. Advice about how to get about would be welcome. Thank you.

Skyeurope.com offer flights from Prague to Dubrovnik. Personally I think Prague alone isn't worth more than 2, maybe 3 days. Czech Republic and Slovakia are beautiful countries, offer beautiful scenery and villages. South of the border, in Austria, apart from Vienna the Wachau valley and Weinviertel (wine quarter) is quite worthwhile, so is Graz, the Burgenland (castles country) and Kärnten (the lake district). Just south of that lake district is Lake Bled in Slovenia.
