Trip to Perugia,Italy

Hello! This is my first trip to Perugia, Italy. Upon landing @ FCO in Italy, which is hte best mode of transportation to Perugia? Is there a bus from the airport to Perugia, or book tickets via Trenitalia website for the EuroTrain? Cost of the bus?
Thanks, Marilyn

Perugia is pretty far north of Rome, and personally I wouldn't want to take a bus all the way to Perugia, even if there were one offered. Take the Leonardo Express from Fiumicino to Roma Termini. Then take a train from Roma Termini to Perugia. I haven't checked routes or costs, but you can visit trenitalia.com and check it yourself. (The Leonardo Express to Termini is 14 euro, not sure what Termini to Perugia is.)

We landed in Rome last fall and drove to a town outside of Perugia. But before deciding to rent our car in Rome instead of Perugia I had looked in to the best way to get there by public transportation. I was leaning toward taking the bus, it picks you up right outside the airport and takes you all the way to downtown Perugia. The website for that bus is www.sulga.it. I don't think there is a direct train from Rome to Perugia. So if you're jetlagged , having to take a train or bus to Termini train station in Rome and then having to make a change of trains along the way can be very tiring. I thought it sounded more tiring than taking the bus.

In taking the bus to Perugia, Italy from FCO airport, where does one buy tickets. I think I read that you purchase the tickets on the bus. Do I need to make reservations via the sulga.it?
