We will be traveling from Amsterdam to the Loire Valley and Paris. On the way,we would like to spend a day in Brussels. Should we rent a car or take trains? If we stop in Brussels via a train is there a place to store our luggage?
It's easy to take the train from Amsterdam to Brussels, and yes, they have nice storage lockers in the Brussels train station.
However, once you get to the Loire Valley, it is much more convenient to visit chateaux if you have a car.
Thanks. How difficult a drive would it be if we rented a car in Amsterdam and drove through Brussels, spending the day, and then driving to Loire Valley? After Loire Valley we would drive to Paris and leave the rental car. Would we be able to do this with rental cars? Would it be a nice ride or are we better off just taking trains?
Char, I've only driven in the French countryside, so I really can't answer that question. Personally I wouldn't want to drive in Paris. Driving around in the Loire Valley would be where you would really need the car. It's easy to turn the car back in and than take the train to Paris.
