I read the recent post about a successful purchase of trenitalia tickets using a relative's credit card to get the menos 30 discount. I was thinking to ask a family member overseas to purchase the train tickets for me as well, but I'm worried that once I'm on the train they might ask for the CC that was used for payment. If we can't present the same CC then the tickets may be considered invalid and we have to pay again? is that correct? Has anyone experienced this? Do the conductors usually go around and verify the method of payment matches for email/printed tickets?
