Trenitalia Website Problem

We are currently experiencing the same problem with the Trenitalia website as others who have posted under the same subject. We were able to make one initial purchase but have not been able to make subsequent purchase since. We have tried all the suggested remedies with no sucess. We have not seen any recent replys so we thought we would ask if anyone has found a solution to the problem? We have no quals about buying by point to pont tickets when we get to Italy. However, for our one overnight train from Florence to Spiez Switzerland, we want to book in advance. Don't want to book through an agent as it is way too expensive (were cheapskates). Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are dozens of travel agents across Italy that act as agents for Trenitalia. Many in the Rome area should have someone who can speak English, so maybe you can call directly...they get a commission from the railway, so they should charge the same as Trenitalia.....keep their website on line when you call. Check the list at http://tinyurl.com/2vdlzh. And send a complaint to webmaster@trenitalia.com, copied to their complaints page. Lots of e-mails are the only way they'll fix these on-going issues...after all, they are a government bureaucracy.
