Trenitalia trains showing N/A- just for the Regional?

So my wife and I are going to be in Italy for two weeks towards the end of this month. I'm just now getting around to checking out train schedules (last minute trip)...

When I go to Trenitalias website, the Regional train going from Florence to Cortona shows N/A for every train. I'm assuming they aren't sold out? My plan was to simply purchase all my tickets (P to P) for the trains once I arrive in Venice (Venice-Florence-Cortona-Rome), thinking that availability wouldn't be an issue. Should I be worried or is that just an issue with the regional trains?

I think "N/A" means "not available" online. The tickets for regional trains are not sold online and, therefore, prices are not displayed. If you click on 'select', you get a message, "Sorry, the chosen solution is not purchasable".

But even if the fares are shown, you can't purchase them online with an American credit card (but you might be able to use a Canadian card. Is that Windsor, CA, or Windsor, ON, CA?).

There are probably plenty of tickets; you just can't buy them online.

Lee is correct, the n/a refers to not being able to purchase the ticket online. Trenitalia doesn't give any indication as to whether or not a train has been sold out (which they very rarely are--especially not the regionals).

Buying your tickets when you get to Venice is fine & since the website doesn't like U.S. credit cards, actually the best option. No need to be worried.

In general, regional trains cannot sell out. It's like the subway, tickets are not specific to a certain departure, you just buy a generic ticket at the station and jump on any regional train.

But be sure to stamp that non-train-specific Trenitalia ticket. Actually, that goes for a lot of subway tickets, too.

Verify too that the date is not one of the designated strike days. Typically I have seen fares (but not the option to purchase) on Trenitalia.

If you look at various routes, you will see that fares are listed only for ES and IC trains. A route that uses only regional trains will show N/A. As route that uses both an IC or ES train and a regional one should show a price.

Chris---June 25 is a "designated" strike day. There is a thread here dedicated to that topic (in the Boot forum). Many trains will run despite the strike. the Trenitalia website has a list of trains that are required to run on strike days, but others may run as well.

Actually, if you enter a date within the next seven days, the fares will appear for routes that are solely on regional trains. The reason for this is that people whose credit cards work on the Trenitalia site can book tickets for regional trains up to seven days in advance. If you enter a date which is beyond seven days, then the "NA" appears. Booking for other types of trains can be done up to 90 days in advance.
