Hello, I am purchasing all of our tickets online to save some money. The process is very easy and our travel dates have been secured. I know I just have to give my PNR no to the conductor so on and so forth. I have a concern though. When they emailed my "ticket", on the seat no. area, they gave me a seat no., but in parenthesis it says (reservation mandatory)? What does that mean? I have to still go to the booth and reserve a seat when i get to ITALY? 2nd question: when I buy my tickets i dont include my son who will not be 2 by time of travel since he is free right? Thanks much in advance!! Carmen
Your seat reservation comes with the ticket and your seat is the one whose number you were given. I assume you will not need to buy a ticket for your son. According to trenitalia.com, child fare tickets are for children 4-12. However, I expect that someone could be assigned the seat next to you, which would mean holding your son in your lap if the person who has been given that seat cannot find an unoccupied one (highly unlikely).
The ticket is giving your a seat number and reason for the seat number is - reservation mandatory. A ticket for a regional train would not have a seat number or that statement. He is free but does not get a seat. You are good to go.
oh thanks much!!were good to go then!!
