Trenitalia ticket from Bern to Milano Centrale

Have purchased ticket in Trenitalia to travel from Bern to Milano Centrale on 4th August 2014. The pickup option I gave is "Self Service"
Got a confirmation mail from trenitalia with PNR number, which needs to be entered in the Self Service station to retrieve the original train ticket.

The problem is We are travelling from Bern to Milano. How do I retrieve the trenitalia tickets in Bern station. The Self Service option is available only in italy train stations - atleast thats what I see from the list of self service machine having stations in the mail. Need help

I hope you can resolve this, but for anyone else reading this, you should always book an international ticket from the country of origin (in this case Swiss Rail), unless you are SURE you can get a print at home ticket, precisely to prevent this problem.

We're not aware of any solution for that problem. The Trenitalia shopping cart does tell you during the booking process (in only medium-sized type) that the "delivery" option is only to pick up tickets in an Italian station. Trenitalia offers print-at-home for domestic tickets, but not international, probably because no two countries have really cooperated on their print-at-home ticket format/datbase. Given the number of people who get frustrated with anything Italian versus Swiss, I'm surprised at how many have made this mistake recently.

You can get it at any Italy rail station so if you are close to a station earlier in your trip pick up the ticket. Other than that, I might try canceling the ticket and starting over. Is there a particular reason that you did it this way?

Hopefully it is a refundable ticket? If so, cancel it and purchase from the Swissrail site, www.rail.ch.

Could you clarify exactly which departure you're using from Bern on 4 August, and whether it's a non-refundable ticket?

Call the Trenitalia customer service desk (number is on website, agents speak English) and ask for an e-ticket to be sent to your email address. Print it out and take it with you.
