I want to buy 3 Trenitalia rail tickets for May 13 evening from Venice to Paris one way thru online with the MOOVE, costing me 62 euro each. Can I buy the 3 tickets anytime now on line. I was told I can buy them only 14 days before departure once we arrive in Rome on April 28,2009
Also, are we guaranteed to be sleeping together on C4 couchettes?

The cheapest advance fare for your route is the Smart Price fare of €45 for a bunk in a C4 couchette. The Trenitalia site usually rejects North American credit cards. However, people have been successful recently when they use a VISA card and take the extra steps to register in the Verified by VISA program.
If you have a VISA card, register as indicated above. Your first step when booking tickets will be to register on the Trenitalia site. You will be sent a temporary password. Use it ASAP to access your account and pick a new password. After you've updated your account, book your tickets. (Disclaimer: I can't guarantee that this will work.)
Popular night trains can sell out weeks in advance. The sooner you book, the better chance you'll have of all three of you being in the same couchette.

See my post HOW TO BUY TRENITALIA TICKETS WITH YOUR VISA CARD, dated 3/13 under The Boot. It's on the 2nd page now. It can be done. Book within 90 days and get that Smart fare. It will most likely be gone if you wait until you get to Italy.
