What is "business area silenzio" versus "business area" on Trenitalia. I'm assuming its a quiet part of train for sleeping! They are same price, from Rome to Naples.

Yes, it's quiet area away from cellphones and ipods. I guess you can sleep if you want - or work. But it's a designated quiet area.

It is a quiet zone. No external noise - cell phones, talking, etc. you could sleep there but it is not designed as a sleeping area as all seats are upright.

Business Area Silenzio means no conversation in person or on the phone allowed. It's for business travelers concentrating on work who don't want to be disturbed by constant mobile phones ringing and people talking. Good luck with that one in Italy. No mobile phone talking. That will be the day. How can an Italian not talk to his/her mamma for over 2 hours? I give Trenitalia one year before they pull that seat category out.

Roberto, as the resident Italian, you should know that the seating has been around for a number of years.
