I am trying to make my last booking before my trip in May.P2P train from Venice to Rome on trenitalia website 55 euros for Premium-15 fare (amica fare not avaiable). However, when I click to purchase tikcet the website re-directs me to Bankpass Web payment. I tired on several attempts/different credit cards/making sure I put in the CVV2 CVC2/ADBC number (which is the 3-digit security code..right?) to make purchase, but it keep saying purchase denied. I've even asked an italian-speaking friend to help, but to no avail. It seems that you must contact a bank in Rome to register your credit card with an online wallet to get a code which allows you to make train ticket purchase. Has anyone else had this prooblem? There must be an easier way. My purchase on the voyages-sncf.com website went smoothly. Please help me figure out how to make purchase for train from Venie to Rome?
Use the search box -- this subject has been beat to death. You are not the first person to have this problem. On the other hand this is almost no need for advance purchse of tickets.
Kasinda, up until the middle of 2008, you could use your American credit card with Trenitalia. Then, it stopped.
But now, it's BACK. Trenitalia has become a Verified by Visa partner. If you register your Visa card with Verified by Visa AND, you register online with Trenitalia, you can make this purchase. I've done it twice in the past two weeks.

Also, Trenitalia has updated their website. The Amica fare is now limited to certain lower classes of trains and there is a new Premium fare with a 15% discount for the better class of trains. They also seem to have raised their fares about 8%-10%.
Why not axoid all yjis stuff and buy in Italy? You should not encounter difficulty.
