I'm planning to travel from Venezia to Schladming, Austria on June 17th morning. I'm having difficulty getting a ticket quote on trenitalia site. Does anyone care to see if they can? I've even tried the international fare section to no avail. Also, in the sale section, they mention 19 Euro travel from Lugano to Italy but I'm having difficulty figuring out how to access that. There's not link from the international specials page and it doesn't seem to work for me from the main site. So if anyone wants to see if they can get me a quote from Lugano to Padova on June 3rd, that'd be terrific. Thanks much!

The Austrians will show you the routing and will sell you the ticket. Here's a link to a page that I see on www.oebb.at for the Venice/Schladming journey. You will need to take a bus from the Venice Tronchetto (large parking garage) to Villach. You can see the fare on the page. http://gyazo.com/a635467c96ee2484b54e21e91f2bdd8e

I can see Lugano to Padova for €42. Lugano to Milan is only €23, so I wonder if maybe it's the EuroCity fares that are cheaper and the costs increase if you need another service to complete your journey.
