hey every one ,
my wife and i travelling from venice to lyon france ..i see a long trip ahead of us by train...have eurorail tickets please advise thanks
Fred: You're correct, it's a long trip. By the fastest trains about 10 hrs station to station time, add to that the time to get to the Venice station, wait for the train, and on the other end to get to your hotel in Lyon--and it's a 12-hour day of traveling.Go here to see schedules: click
Night trains are not for everyone, but if it were me I'd consider it seriously for this leg of your trip.
We did this trip in two days since we had an interest in seeing some of Torino, Italy. We found Torino and Lyon for that matter to be lovely cities worth a stop. We did not have a rail pass so were going point to point. It was a little confusing and expensive when we crossed the border to France. I would have reservations for the entire trip or have accurate time schedules before you go. We spent a bit of time figuring out our departure before we could settle into Torino. Happy Travels!
