Hi Guys, We are are group of 7 intending to travel from Innsbruck to Florence. We are thinking of catching a train during the day to see the scenery. is this difficult to do? Its starting to get confusing. After Florence we are traveling to Paris and then back to Munich. Any feedback / advice would be MUCH appreciate :)
There's a nonstop overnight that leaves around midnight, but if you want a day train, it looks like the 11:27 from Innsbruck to Bologna and then the 16:38 from Bologna to Firenze, arriving at 17:15. But you will need to make reservations for the second train. http://fahrplan.oebb.at/bin/query.exe/en?ld=3&seqnr=4&ident=h5.03111168.1305553268&REQ0HafasScrollDir=2
I see on the italian rail site, if you take the 17:18 train from Bologna to Firenze, you will not need a reservation. It's about 20 minutes longer and arrives at 18:17. Much cheaper, also.
It is a very beautiful route, so I would definitely consider a day time trip. (Plus you don't get much rest on the night trains anyways) What exactly is starting to get confusing for you, Ben?
thanks so much guys! I did find those trains leaving Innsbruck so i guess im kind of on the right track. I guess the confusing part was the rest of our time in Europe as we then proceed from Florence to Paris then back to Munich. we only have two weeks
to do all this. so should we conisder a eurail pass or just book individually when needed?
