travelling from Calgary, Canada to Paris, Corsica return

We have two weeks in June and wonder how to plan this within a mid-range budget. Mom 60, daughter 40, and granddaughter 18. would Calgary, Paris, Barcelona return be a more resonably priced trip? The goal was Paris then someplace warm and coastal.

Terry,

Could you elaborate a bit more on the destinations you specified? Given your home location, I'd probably use Air Transtat open-jaw flights. You could fly Vancouver to Paris to start your trip and return from either Barcelona or Rome (using the new weekly flights that will be implemented in May).

I wasn't quite sure how Corsica fit into the plans, but it should be easy enough to find a budget flight from Paris. Also, I wasn't sure why you listed Calgary?

Good luck!

Pat,

That's exactly what I was referring to in my first post. We definitely need some additional information to clarify the desired travel arrangements.

Since your mid-range budget fits all of us, I don't know how to answer. I assume Calgary is your most convenient departure city.

A "reasonably priced trip" is not possible at this time. We all suffer from costly travel.

Corsica is too far from Paris to warrant the expense of getting there. Warm and coastal describes a place much closer to Paris--the French Riviera. Why not go there?

Terry I am very confused, why would you fly from Calgary if you are from Victoria??
Your closest major departure airport( besides the obvious Victoria one, is Vancouver. Yes, some flights may stop in Calgary, but there are many many flights and airlines that do not,,are you looking at just one airline??

Hi, all. The reason for the Calgary departure is that my daughter and granddaughter live in Calgary, and we wanted to travel together to Paris. Their preference is one week in Paris and then a laid-back sunny, coastal week. Any recommendations?

Terry,

Thanks for the clarification!

In that case, you might try one of the Charters such as Air Transat departing from Vancouver, as they often stop in Calgary to fill up the plane. If you did advance seat selection (extra cost?), you would be assured of sitting with your daughter and granddaughter from Calgary to Paris (and return). You'd be waiting on the plane for them when they board.

You might want to speak with a Travel Agent if you can't find a similar flight on their website. I normally use a Travel Agent to book flights to Europe, especially as they tickets is covered by the Travel Assurance Fund here in B.C. (remember Zoom and Canada 3000).

For "sunny coastal areas" have you looked at either the Cinque Terre area or the Amalfi Coast? Barcelona and Corsica are a bit "distant" from Paris. Although it's not "coastal", another very quiet and relaxing area is Lago di Como.

Happy travels!

Most flights from Calgary to Paris would be with Air Canada via Montreal. But other connections that are sometimes cheaper are with British Airways via Heathrow or with Lufthansa via Frankfurt. My husband flies to Paris on business fairly often and loves the Lufthansa connections the best.

I think a week in Paris and then the TGV down to the French Riviera would be the easiest logistically.

We did an open jaw on Air France Toronto-Paris and Nice-Paris-Toronto last year and the return flight was only about $25 more.
