Traveling with small dog

Need to get from Southampton UK to Edinburgh post trans-atlantic crossing. Can we take dog in cabin on British airline (such as Flybe), or is it better to take the train?

A quick 3 word (flybe animal cabin) Google returned Flybe answer which says: Flybe restricts the carriage of all other cats and dogs (not assistance) as cargo only, both accompanied and unaccompanied. The animals will be carried in the holds of the aircraft. For further information please contact Globe Air Cargo on +44 (0) 2087 574776.

Take the train. My dog and I travel a lot in the UK (and if you want more tips, you can read my blog). Trains are really easy. We're actually going to do the Edinburgh to Dover next week

Rachel has suddenly bombard this site with many postings with directions to her blog. Some of the postings pulled up were over five years old and total out of date or an inappropriate response to the original question. I would exercise of a lot of caution about opening her blog.

It's not a scam. I got really frustrated at all of the misinformation on this site about travelling with dogs and so I decided to do something about it by compiling what I have learnt. And, yes, I do answer things like getting around the UK with a dog. I did not at all mean to break the rules. I am concerned that people will read older posts and decide not to travel with their dog because of them. I would encourage anyone who wants to travel with a dog to do so - it's a lot easier than people think.

Rachel,
I pmed you, try tripadvisor.com forums, they allow links to blogs. RS site does not for some reason. I like blogs myself,, especially ones that are like trip reports and have photos etc,, but I am sure one about travelling with dogs would be useful and informative for other folks. Good luck.
