My husband and I are planning our first trip to Europe in early September (our dates are flexible, so we'd probably leave Mon. Tue., or Wed.). We are departing from Los Angeles, CA, and are planning to visit Spain, France and Italy. Problem is, we are having a hard time figuring out which is the cheapest destination/airport to arrive at. Any suggestions?
Try this link for itasoftware.com, use the month long search and it will show you the cheapest days to depart.
If you wish to fly open jaw, use the specific dates feature and click on the multi segment tab.
Hi Doris,
I'd start by tracking airfares on Kayak.com--Look at Madrid, Paris, Milan, and Rome. It also depends on your itinerary.
Don't discount how nice a nonstop flight it. You might be lucky enough to fly to all of those cities from LA nonstop, but if not, that's an easy way to cross one off your list.
Christy makes a great point about non-stop flights! I concur!
It's all about the airfare equation. I fly into and out of the cities that give me the cheapest airfare.
My only concrete suggestion is to fly open jaw, so that you do not have to spend a day returning to wherever you fly into.
