Traveling through Italy is a railpass a good idea

We are traveling from
Rome to Siena
Siena to Florence
Florence to Pisa and back to Florence all in one day
Florence to Venice
Venice to Paris

Trying to figure out what is the best way to travel

In one day?

go here to look at schedules & travel times

so that you can decide if you want to attempt that in one day!

Re railpass for Italy, the standard advice given here is that point to point tickets are better than a railpass for those traveling within Italy.

Tiffani, a railpass is usually a more expensive way to travel in Italy than buying P2P tickets. Italy will charge you 15E-20E extra for riding the Eurostar-class trains. You will most likely be on Eurostars for your Rome/Florence and Florence/Venice legs. This reservation fee is 50% of a normal P2P fare which includes your seat reservation. Quite a penalty. You will need to add that to the cost of your railpass for price comparison. Travel from Florence to Siena and from Florence to Pisa is very cheap. 12.20Euro round trip for Siena and 11.20Euro roundtrip to Pisa. Why pay over $200 for a pass when you have fares like this.

To figure out your schedule you will need to visit real train websites to see them. Kent has linked you to the great German site. You can see the schedules but the bahn site won't show you fares for Italy. You can easily see the train schedules and fares for Italy on www.trenitalia.com. Select English and don't put in a date more than 60 days out. You will see schedules and fares.
