My sister and I are first time travelers to Greece and were wondering if anyone could give us some tips on the best ways to island hop. We will have 2 weeks there total and we will be coming from Italy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I could go on and on, but the simplest rules for island travel are:
Travel absorbs a good chunk of a day, so at best only plan on "hopping" every other day at the fastest, allowing two nights and an uninterupted day on an island.
Figure out the common routes ferries take through the islands, and plan on islands on that route. You will find if you randomly list islands, you may not be able to get to an island from where you are, or at least you will have to go back through Athens to get there.
Unless you are planning on travelling in August, consider just booking your ferry tickets when you get to Greece. Even hotels or rooms can easily be had if you are flexible when you arrive on an island. (Of course, you are talking about being there between May and September?)
If you find yourself witn a long hop back to or from Athens (6+ hours by ferry) consider flying on Aegean Air.
