traveling germany's regional trains

We need to get to Bacharach. We are leaving Interlaken on the 5th of May for which we have reservations on rail europe. We are going to Mannheim. We need to get to Bacharach from Mannheim. I have been told there is a regional train from Mannheim and then to Bacharach..can you help with this?

Go to bahn.de for the schedule. Probably would have gotten a much better price using bahn instead of Rail Europe.

Travel between Mannheim and Bacharach cheaply on a Rheinland-Pfalz ticket. If "we" is 2 people, the ticket will cost 25€ for travel on regional trains at a Mannheim DB ticket machine. RP ticket details: http://www.vrminfo.de/en/tickets-and-fares/ticket-offers/rheinland-pfalz-ticket/ To find an itinerary: use the DB itinerary page: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en Be sure to specify "only local transport" under "means of transport" to get a plan for the eligible regional trains. You will have to change trains. The trip will take a tad over 2 hours. 15:11 - 17:15, or 16:12 - 18:27, for example, with 2 changes. There are other connections with one change that take a little longer. You would still have to change trains even if you started from Mannheim on the high speed trains since Bacharach is a small station served only by regional trains.
