Traveling from Venice to Cinque Terre

Hello All!
What is the fastest way to travel from Venice to Cinque Terre? Or would it be smarter to go to Florence after Venice and then to Cinque Terre? After Venice and Cinque Terre we will be spending 5 nights at a B&B near San Gimignano. What other towns/villages should we plan on seeing for our day trips while staying here? Thanks for your help!

Hey!

Glad to see someone's still going to Cinque Terre these days haha! It will be smarter to go to Cinque Terre after Florence, which will twice faster than departing from Venice. Buy a train ticket on Trenitalia web-site, they serve this route.

I would suggest going to Siena, Lucca and Pisa if you have free time. Hope this helps :)

Since the fastest way is through Florence, that would be the way to go.

Is this Venice to Cinque Terre by road or rail?

If rail, go to the Trenitalia site ( https://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en ) and enter Venezia S. Lucia to whichever of the 5 towns you want to go to (for example Monterosso) and a date and time (no later than June, later times TBA). It will show you the rail options.
It takes about 5½ hours by rail. And you do go via Florence, so you can stop for a few hours or nights there. If you do so, you need two separate tickets, Venice to Florence and Florence to whichever of the 5 towns.
