Me and a buddy are staying at the castle in Hurlach, which is west of Munich. We already have a rail pass but have limited days and are trying to find the cheapest way to get in and out of Munich from Hurlach. It looks like Kaufering or Schwabmünchen are the two closet train stations, but were wondering if anyone knew of any other routes, ideas, or anything. Thanks.

According to the Bahn there are limited bus connections from Hurlach to rail stations (to Kaufering at 7:34, next to Schwabmünchen at 13:36). You might also try getting to Landsberg am Lech. With a €28 Bayern-Ticket, bus and regional rail transportation will be covered for both of you.
By the way, the last bus of the day from Kaufering leaves at 17:36, gets to Hurlach at 17:48, so don't plan on spending the evening in Munich.
