Hi, Does anyone have any tips on traveling from Santorini to Venice? We (girl friend and I) thought about taking a ferry, but that seems a little lengthy and inconvenient. We're now thinking of flying from Santorini to Venice through Aegean airlines, but it seems a little pricey. Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you,
Don
Flying is you only reasonable options. And it is a pretty good distance. And two or three times further via water. Aegean is a good airline and uses a price structure similar to Southwest in the US.
Check the prices on flying from Santorini to Milan, and then taking the train in to Venice.
Don, I took a very similar route last year, using Aegean from Santorini to Milan (with a short layover in Athens). Given the distance and travel times, travel by air is absolutely the method and the one I'd suggest. I found Aegean to be a "real class act", and I'd fly with them anytime. I feel that my holiday time is valuable, and there's no way I'd want to be stuck on a Ferry for the time it takes to get from Santorini to Venice. I felt that air was overall the best value. Happy travels!
