We are a group of 10 (kids and adults) planning on traveling from Saas-Fee Switzerland (where we will not have a car) to Cortina d'Ampezzo (in Italy). I know this involves two countries, but since we start in Switzerland, I thought I'd post here first. Right now we are looking at taking a bus from Saas-Fee to Brig (one hour ride on the bus), then a train (without transfers) from Brig to Milan. Change trains to go from Milan to Venice. Then in Venice take the Cortina Express bus to go to Cortina d'Ampezzo. We will be traveling in the 3rd week of August. Are the trains air conditioned? (When I check the internet, it looks like most of them are...) We will each have one carry-on bag and one backpack. Is luggage stored near your seat or at the front of the car or? I've seen reviews that some Cortina Express buses have bathrooms and some don't. We will have two kids, ages 4 and 9 with us so we need something with a bathroom.
We also thought about renting two cars in Milan (or Venice) and then driving to Cortina.
Any input and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
