Traveling from Rome to Prague

We will be traveling from Rome to Prague towards the end of October. What is the best (i.e. least expensive) way to get there? From Prague, we need to get to Toulouse, France on Nov 1. Any travel suggestions for that leg of the trip?

Another good search engine for budget airlines in Europe is www.whichbudget.com.

SkyEurope flies from Rome Fiumicino to Prague. SmartWings flies from Rome Ciampino to Prague.

SmartWings flies from Prague to Paris CDG, but on 1 November the flight doesn't leave until 18:50. A better choice would be to fly SkyEurope to Paris Orly, leaving at 06:40. You would have time to get to Gare Montparnasse to catch a direct TGV to Toulouse, departing at 11:25. Take Air France bus #1 directly from Orly to Montparnasse. The fare is €9.

I would suggest flying - trains will be time consuming and expensive unless you take overnights, which are still very expensive if you don't have a pass. Not sure what day exactly you need to fly, but SkyEurope has flights from Rome to Prague at the end of Oct. from $62. Checkout Skyscanner.net - it will search all the budget airlines in Europe and find the cheapest ticket. You may have to fly back to Paris from Prague and then take a train to Toulouse if you want the cheapest option. Otherwise a plane ticket will run about $250. Prague to Paris is about $90 and train fares to Toulouse vary widely. Check out the SNCF website for best deals. (anywhere from $60-100 second class)

One of the best reasons for flying is that in Europe you don't HAVE to buy round trip tickets. One way tickets are generally the cost of round trip cut in half.
