In early September 2026 6 of us are staying in Paris for two days on our way to a cruise. We will be flying probably from Orly to Venice with a wheelchair and our baggage but are finding it a little confusing regarding which mode of transportation we should use from Paris to Orly. We are staying at a bnb closest to the LA Peletier metro station. The flight we are considering flies into Marco Polo airport and we understand that we then need to hire a water taxi at the airport. Should we wait to get whatever tickets you suggest to get to Orly once we are in Paris? Also do we book water taxi tickets ahead of time or once we land at Orly?

With 6 plus a wheelchair take a taxi or Uber to Orly. Reserve in advance so you get a vehicle large enough to accommodate all of you plus your luggage.

confused what you're planning. do you have 2 nights in paris and leave on the 3rd morning to orly? know that check-in times are 3-4pm and check-out times are 10-11am for hotels.
with your group of 6 hire a taxi to take to airport, how much ahead of time to get there, taxi big enough for all of you, luggage and wheelchair. ask your host/hostess for number or call one, use an app.
where does this cruise depart from: they do not cruise out of venice anymore but has different ports you will need transporation to. look at which port and how far (miles/hours) train, bus, taxi.

lots of info with this website. more info from you would help the forum help you. your time is short so make decisions soon. september is still considered high season, it's harvest season for wine & olive oil, venice is always crowded. if plannimg to see any attractions make reservations early, dinner reservations. traveling with a wheelchair can be tough with cobblestones, stairs/steps, up and down bridges. just go with the flow and enjoy

You dont mention if the person using the wheelchair can transfer to a regular seat, and if the chair is collapsible. . If not, you will need to order a wheelchair accessible taxi. Depending on the amount of luggage, you may need to order 2 taxis to get to Orly. Of course you need to order your flight tickets well in advance, as well as requesting wheelchair assistance on the airline website.
Not all water taxis in Venice are wheelchair accessible. You will need to order it in advance. And as noted above, few cruise lines sail out of Venice itself. Most sail from Ravenna, Trieste, or Fusina. Let's us know which one your ship sails from for transport advice.

do not book the flight until the port is confirmed. Venice is the wrong airport if it's from Ravenna or Trieste and water taxis wonlt enter the question.

I guess I wasn't clear with my explanation. We are going early to Paris, arriving on 09/06. Staying there 2 days then flying to Venice. We will probably travel by train to Rome and then to Civitavecchia to the port. Cruise leaves on the 11th. Alot to cram in in just a few days but cruise is a nursing school graduation present and the trip to Paris was a surprise for the graduate whose dream was to see the Eiffel tower and some of Paris. She intends to go back someday, so a couple days will suffice for now. Thank you for your great suggestions.

You'd better learn the difference between a Water bus (aka a vaporetto) and a water taxi, that can be booked but has no tickets.
Since there are no direct trains between Venice and Civitavecchia You should also book the SalaBlu services for passengers with mobility problems. This way the train transfer in Rome will be a lot easier.
