Traveling between Croatia and Montenegro

I have two questions. We're renting a car in Croatia in Split and driving down to Kotor, Montenegro. Are there any complications with such a trip that we should be aware of? Then, we will return from Montenegro to Dubrovnik a couple of days later. We're hoping to not have the car any longer at that point. Is there a reliable ferry schedule between Montenegro and Dubrovnik? Thanks!

No ferry schedule between Montenegro and Dubrovnik, just two incongruent bus lines. The car is easiest - you should have no problems, it's totally leisurely driving.

As others have stated, it's an easy drive from Dubrovnik (60-90 minutes, depending on traffic, border busyness, and how intent you are on not stopping along the way). Be sure to ask the rent-a-car company before booking about insurance coverage and other paperwork needed to cross into Montenegro. We had zero hassles, but we specifically rented in Dubrovnik with the stated intention of going to Kotor for the day. We just pulled up to the border, handed them the folder of paperwork for the car that was provided by the agency, and it took 2 minutes. Easy and friendly. No Dubrovnik-Kotor ferries that I saw any evidence of.

Last year i was in Croatia, it was a really nice experience, a friend of mine suggested me to spent my vacations in Croatia, firstly i couldn't believe that it was a great place to spent my vacations but now Croatia is my first choice and only, i think i will visit again. Really, i had planned to spend just a few days but i stayed there for more than 1 week, visiting so many great places like the capital : Zagreb or cities like Dubrovnik, Krka and so many others. I did a research for the best places in Croatia, here : http://www.mawista.com/blog/en/top-14-places-to-visit-in-croatia/ But is really your choice. Go whenever you feel!
