traveling around London

What is the best train ticket option traveling between Twickenham and London for 3 days and then to Portsmouth for ferry crossing. 4 travelers , 2 adults and 2
teens. Individual tickets locally or some kind of pass?

Get Oyster cards for each person for the travel between Twickenham and London and within London. Charge them with cash and use pay-as-you-go, the system will automatically make sure you don't get charged more than a day Travelcard would have cost. (But be warned that if you leave Twickenham before 0930 on Mon-Fri the cap will be set significantly higher.) How old are your teens? If they are under 16 they can get free travel and if they are 16 or 17 they can get discount fares. However, there's a £10 fee to arrange the necessary ID card, and the process seems generally designed to be too complicated for tourists. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/14310.aspx#Live_outside_London For London to Portsmouth get individual train tickets. You may possibly get cheaper fares if you book online in advance, but that route shouldn't be too expensive to buy on the day.
