After spending time in London, we will take the train to Bath and spend at least one night there. We're then planning to rent a car and have two more nights and three full days before we turn the car in in Portsmouth and take the overnight ferry to Brittany. I'm having trouble deciding whether to continue to stay in Bath and return at the end of the day after touring the countryside. I'm also going a little crazy trying to figure out where to go. We've been to Stonehenge, Avebury, and the Cotswolds but would like to possibly visit Wells, Stourhead and the New Forest. Is it better to move from place to place or to stay the extra two nights in Bath or some other centrally located place. Thoughts? Thanks,
ER
Personally I would stay the two nights in Bath and visit Wells, also Tinturn Abbey in Wales rather than changing to a new location each night, that is what we did several years ago and worked out well for us. We stayed at The Henry B&B, excellent location. Downside was we had to pay to park but parking lot was right across from the B&B. Be sure to do the free Bath walk, I think about an hour or so and leaves right from the church.
