I am flying to china on air china in early november on a tour visiting beijing and shaghai - does anyone have any advice for travel ; eating; and changing money to yuan for shopping

Get your money out of ATMs. Bank of China has an english option. So do HSBC and a couple of others, but BoC is most common. Eat in every food stall you come to. Don't ask what stuff is.
