Hi We would like to go to Europe this summer, spenda week in Spain, never been there and go to Koeln to visist our friends for another week. What would be the best way to arrange for that? where should we go in Spain, Barcelona, Madrid, noth or south? Do you think we should fly from Frankfurt to Barcelona and back, take train to Koeln? thank you

Have you considered flying into Spain open jaw'd and flying home from Germany? Germanwings.com flies from Barcelona to Cologne-Bonn Airport, and at very reasonable budget fares. (They're owned by Lufthansa.) See their website. From Koln, you can easily catch a train down to Frankfort Airport for a direct flight back to The States.
