We have a 4-country Eurail pass that does not include the Czeck Republic. We've now decided to try to visit Cesky Krumlov from Linz. My pass will cover the trip to the Czeck border but not the rest of the way. Can I purchase a ticket from the border to Ceske Budejovice in Linz or will I have to de-train at the border, buy tickets, and re-board? The return trip should be no problem as I will be getting on in Czeck. Thanks.

According to the Austrian Rail Lines OBB you can take a bus from Linz to Ceske Budejovice.
Bus 342 from Linz/Donau Untere Donaulände and make a change in Pregarten.
Total travel time 2 hours and 26 minutes.
