i may have an opportunity to stay in Surrey, though we are wanting to do our activities and night life in London. How awkward and time consuming is the trip from one to the other? I would need specifics please....
Where are you in Surrey? Most of Surrey is linked by regular railway trains to Waterloo railway station in Central London, but the time can be anything up to an hour. The problem is that the fares can be high if you are outside the area covered by London Travelcards and the last train may be too early to be convenient if you want to go to theatres, clubs or fancy restaurants. I would strongly suggest that you find out the nearest station (and if you can walk there or would have to drive), and whether it is within the Travelcard area. Then check www.nationalrail.co.uk for train journey times, last trains and typical fares.
Extra text added: do not even think of driving from Surrey into central London every day. You will sit in traffic for hours, pay loads on parking, and pollute the air and take up road space for those of us who live here :-)
I think you have to tell us where in Surrey as it covers a large area. You could be paying a lot for train fares into London everyday.
