Travel Rome to Paris

I have never purchased open jaw tickets before but decided to take the plunge.
I purchased open jaw Indy to Rome and Paris to Indy. Before I purchased I had been tracking a separate ticket from Rome to Paris and the price was consistently $46 on Vueling. After I bought my open jaw ticket the price more than doubled.

The date I need to travel to Paris is pretty specific Oct. 30 after 11am. I know that is limiting me. My question is does Vueling prices only go up or is it is possible they might drop again? I have never purchased inter European flights before and have no clue what to expect.
Thanks.

Nine months out, I'd guess the price might still come down. But you're rolling the dice. You could take a chance and wait. If it goes up even more, you'll kick yourself, but overall it's not going to change the total cost of your trip that much.

Easyjet also flies Rome to Paris (Orly). It looks like their reservations for October 30th won’t open til next week.

I would wait until Easyjet and Ryanair come out with fares for that date. Note that Ryanair flies into Beauvais, which is quite a distance from Paris.

The super low fares that you see are probably without checked bags or advance seat selection.

Thanks for your input. I’ll keep checking to see EasyJet price when released.

If you use a budget airline from Rome to Paris, easyJet would be the best choice (IMO) as RyanAir uses Beauvaism, which is a considerable distance outside Paris and will increase your travel times & cost. Whichever one you choose, be sure to read the airline Terms & Conditions carefully especially regarding luggage limits. With easyJet I've found that the experience is much more pleasant if one opts for Speedy Boarding and advance seat selection.

European airlines can be very economical but check for upcharges. Fees for seats start at 3 Euro & be sure to print your boarding pass and check in online as airport checkin fee is 55 Euro! I flew Ryan air Rome - Paris Beauvais. I was driving to Bayeux so this made for an easy drive. But later it was a hassle to get into Paris by bus.

Buying open jaw tickets is not a new thing nor is it really a big deal at all (plunge). Do you not plan on seeing anything between Rome and Paris? You know there's a plethora of sights between Rome and Paris.

It's almost 850 miles from Rome to Paris, and it's difficult to go that far when you have the Alps to cross. Flying is the best way to go. You might do best to avoid Vueling in favor of EasyJet, Alitalia or Joon (div. of Air France.)

Don't stress yourself over $46 extra dollars. Book what is available and spend your time planning what you want to see.
