My wife and I are traveling in Italy in July, and were thinking of flying into Palermo from Florence for a couple of nights before heading to Naples and the Amalfi Coast. What is the best/fastest way to get from Palermo to Naples? I heard about the overnight ferry - is there a hydrofoil too?

There is a ferry from Palermo to Naples. It leaves at 20:00 and arrives the next morning at 06:30. The cost for 2 with a 2-bed interior cabin is 125Euro. There are two night trains from Palermo to Naples. One requires a train change in Messina - the other doesn't. About 10 hours. CLICK HERE to see what I see.
