Upon arriving at 9:15am in MIlan, what is the best way to travel to Sanremo. Will I have to change trains? Where?

Sue, Some of the trains on that route require one change, while others are direct. As you're arriving in Milan (MXP, I'm assuming?), it's unlikely that you'll be at Milano Centrale before about 11:00. There is a direct train departing Milan at 11:05, arriving at 14:48 (travel time 3H:43M). I don't know if it will be possible to connect with that one? The next train after that departs at 13:10, arriving 17:13 (travel time 4H:03M, one change at Genova Piazza Principe). These times are of course, "approximate" based on information today. I'd suggested checking on the Trenitalia website closer to the time you'll be travelling. Is this trip taking place soon, or during the music festival? Happy travels!
