Hello,
Take a train from Lisbon to Lagos and rent a car? Rent a car from Lisbon airport and do the drive? We have six nights set aside for the Algarve. Worried about being at the mercy of train schedules. What should my concerns be, if any about the drive from Lisbon? Thank you

Driving in Portugal is easy. We rented a car in Porto and returned it 8 days later in Lisbon with the Douro and Algarve in between.

Just watch out for young guys on motorcycles who think they are immortal and will scare you to death on the highways. Other than that we drove all over Portugal with pleasure.
