Do I need to bring my whole printed out policy with me, or are just certificate of insurance pages sufficient?
Since I travel solo, I take my insurance cards with me and leave the printed policies at home with my husband. I have the policies’ apps or websites bookmarked on my phone if I need to refer to them. Fortunately I have not needed to use insurance when traveling.
I agree, just download the app and have your policy number. Hoping you never have to use it!
You should be able to obtain a pdf of the policy wordings from the insurer.
I take screenshots of the policy, or save a pdf copy on my device, as well as leaving paper copies with my husband at home.
I carry a little card with the policy number and the company’s contact numbers with me when I’m out and about.
I print out the first page of the policy with the basic coverage info and the policy number and carry it with me. I download the entire policy to my iPad for reference if needed. It’s good to know in a crunch if my situation is covered or not.
Some of the companies have an app that you can download on your phone. I use Allianz, and their app (called Travel Smart) gives me electronic copies of the policy in full, the insurance cards, and even tracks my flights for me to alert me if there are any changes that occur.
Thanks to all for your replies. I just needed a little common sense advice, appreciate your providing!
